INGREDIENTS NEEDED
- Flour: All-purpose flour is the main base for this cake. Be sure to measure it correctly, by spooning the flour into the measuring cup and leveling it off.
- Spices: Ground Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cloves, and Allspice all combine together to create the perfect fall flavor.
- Butter: Unsalted butter is best for baking, but if you use salted butter, reduce the added salt.
- Applesauce: Use unsweetened applesauce because the granulated sugar is enough sweetness in the recipe.
Variations
- Add some diced apples into the cake mixture (make sure the apples are diced small).
- You could add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans or raisins.
