How to Make Cucumber and Onion Salad
- It’s best to slice the cucumbers about 1/8” thick. We like the onions sliced nice and thin. You can use a mandolin for fast, even chopping.
- The dressing is made of yogurt, vinegar, dill, sugar, salt, and black pepper. I prefer using chopped fresh dill but you can use dry if fresh isn’t available.
- The creamy dressing calls for apple cider vinegar but white vinegar or white wine vinegar may be substituted.
- Whisk all the ingredients for the dressing together and then add additional salt and pepper to taste. Toss the cucumber slices and onion with the dressing in a large bowl and you have the best cucumber salad recipe!
- Feel free to add things as you like to this salad: chopped bell peppers or tomatoes for more veggies, or sprinkle feta cheese or goat cheese on top.
- Fresh herbs are always best, but dried can be used in a pinch. You can also add red pepper flakes for a little spice.

can you make this recipe without the yogurt and put miracle whip in its place plus leave out dill because i don’t like either one.
