Make my Oven Roasted Broccoli Recipe – this easy side dish is the best way to eat vegetables. Broccoli is so much better roasted with a little heat from the red pepper flakes – this will become a favorite!

I could eat broccoli every single day and not get tired of it – raw, boiled, air fried or roasted – I love it every single way you can make it! If you’ve never tried making oven roasted broccoli you must – it’s a game changer. Roasting vegetables is a game changer and will make everyone like them – I make this at least once a week!

Roasting vegetables like broccoli makes the edges a little crisp with that grilled smokey taste – they’re a little crunchy and soft on the edges. No matter how you season it, oven-roasted broccoli is the best way to cook it!

Ingredient Notes

  • Broccoli – depending on how it’s sold (stalks vs crowns) you’ll need about 1 bunch or 2-3 crowns. I prefer to buy it that way and cut it into bite-sized pieces myself – it’s cheaper and doesn’t smell like the bagged stuff does.
  • Spices – my secret spice is a little pinch of red pepper flakes. It’s all about spice to make even the pickiest of eaters to like their greens. Other than that I use some sea salt or kosher salt, ground black pepper, onion and garlic.

How to make Easy Oven Roasted Broccoli

  1. It’s important to bake the broccoli on a high temperature so it gets nice and toasted.
  2. A little olive oil is important so the spices stick to the florets.
  3. It’s best to use a plain cookie sheet, but I also sometimes cover my baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.

Storing Leftovers

Store leftover broccoli in an airtight container in the fridge. You can also freeze it in a freezer bag. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer to crisp them back up!

Variations & Tips

  • Feel free to use frozen broccoli – it doesn’t need to be thawed.
  • You can also make roasted broccolini with this same recipe.
  • Other flavors: add grated parmesan cheese or other spices, like parsley or thyme. Use some sesame oil (just a 1/2 teaspoon or so) along with the extra virgin olive oil.
  • We also love giving this a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
