Turn lemon, ginger, and honey into a Golden Gate Mocktail – a non-alcoholic version of a popular cocktail recipe. It’s sweet and tart and the perfect easy drink recipe.

A glass of lemonade with ice cubes and lemon slices is on a light surface. A wooden honey dipper is nearby, along with a cut lemon and a partially visible bottle in the background.

I actually created this easy drink when the 49ers went to the Super Bowl – I was looking for a delicious mocktail to make to celebrate our team and, well, a Golden Gate drink works! Plus it was simple to make with easy ingredients I already had on hand, so it was a no brainer. If you love lemon drinks or drinks with ginger beer, this is the perfect recipe for you.

Three bottles are on a counter: a clear glass bottle with brown liquid, a green plastic lemon juice bottle with a yellow cap, and a brown glass bottle of Bundaberg Diet Ginger Beer with a yellow cap.

How to make a Golden Gate Mocktail Tips

  1. You only need three ingredients for this recipe. The main flavors are fresh lemon juice and ginger beer – but you can also use ginger ale if you prefer.
  2. I didn’t use a cocktail shaker, but you can add the juice and honey with ice and shake to mix. Otherwise, just stir with a spoon.
  3. Make sure to buy non-alcoholic ginger beer – we use diet so there are less calories.
  4. When it comes to honey you have some options: either use regular honey or swap simple syrup. You can also make a simple syrup with honey (use honey instead of sugar) or buy honey syrup.
  5. You can adjust the amount of honey you add based on your sweetness preference.
  6. Serve this in a collins glass or highball glasses, or a stemless wine glass like I did.
  7. Garnish with a lemon slice.
A glass of lemonade with ice and a lemon slice garnish is on a gray surface. Beside it are a honey dipper with honey, a blue polka dot straw, lemon slices, and a blurred whiskey bottle in the background.
