Learn how to make air fryer potstickers with a homemade dipping sauce to go with them. Make frozen potstickers nice and crunchy with the air fryer – no oil or frying needed.

If you love hot and crispy potstickers but don’t want to order take-out or fry them yourself on the stove, then you are going to love this air fryer recipe. While I love pan frying them, it uses lots of oil. Cooking frozen potstickers in the air fryer is fast, easy, and better for you!
You also need a great dipping sauce to go with them, and it’s not that little frozen packet in the box. I’m showing you how to make a homemade potsticker sauce that tastes just like what you’d get at your favorite restaurant.

Tips for How to Cook Frozen Dumplings in the Air Fryer
- You can use any kind of frozen potstickers. They sell vegetable, pork, and even chicken – we often get them at Trader Joe’s or Costco. You’ll also see them labelled gyoza which are Japanese dumplings (instead of pot stickers, which are Chinese). You find them in the freezer section in any grocery store.
- When cooking in the air fryer, you want to coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Always cook in a single layer – you may need to work in batches.
- Cook about 3-4 minutes, then flip and finish cooking. The outside with be golden brown with a crispy texture.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, which for us is the recipe we make at home (not a jarred sauce or the packet that comes in the bag).

How to Make Potsticker Sauce
- It’s so easy (and tastes so much better) to make your own dipping sauce. Just mix together the rice vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce (we use low sodium) and the remaining ingredients in a bowl. I always add sesame seeds too, but those can be left out.
- When buying garlic and ginger, you can mince your own garlic or buy a tube. I usually have one of those tubes of ginger paste in my fridge, but you can also buy fresh garlic and use a microplane to grate it.
