This Virgin Mojito is just like the classic refreshing drink, but with absolutely no alcohol – and you won’t miss it. We like this mocktail better than the real thing.

Virgin Mojito Recipe

This mojito mocktail recipe is the perfect recipe to have on hand for any kids or people you may host that don’t drink. Kids always love to have a “fun” drink and whenever I host, I like to have non-alcoholic versions ready to go!

This drink has a great minty flavor with sprigs of mint and limes throughout the whole drink to bring those traditional mojito cocktail flavors. I started this recipe with sparkling water and then added fresh lime juice to bring everything together. If your looking for refreshing beverages to add to your list, this is a great option that the whole family can enjoy.

Ingredients Needed for virgin mojito mocktail

  • Soda Water: I use a basic club soda because it has the best bubbles
  • Lime Juice: Use whatever your favorite brand is!
  • Simple Syrup: This is up to you to add. If you want some extra sweeteners you can add it to taste.
  • Limes: Lime slices and lime wedges are a great garnish for drink recipes like this one.

Variations

  • Instead of club soda, you can use any sort of of sparkling water (Lime Bubbly or La Croix would be good) or even lemon-lime soda, ginger ale, or limeade for a bit more sweetness.
  • You can easily flavor mocktail mojitos by replacing some of the soda with fruit juice, like watermelon or pineapple. Or add coconut water or cucumber water.

How to make A Non-Alcoholic Mojito

  • Add mint leaves and sugar to a tall glass. Use a muddler and muddle (this bruises the fresh mint allowing the aromas and flavors to infuse with the sugar).
  • Add ice, lime juice, simple syrup, and then pour in club soda, stir and garnish.

You could add cranberry juice for a Cranberry Sunrise type drink, or turn this in to a Virgin Tom Collins too!

Expert Tips

  • Add fresh mint leaves and lime slices as garnish.
  • You can use the end of a wooden spoon as a muddler if you don’t have one.
  • You can make this drink for pitchers too to make a drink for a crowd: Use an entire bunch of mint with 3 tablespoons sugar for muddling, then add 1 cup lime juice, 40 ounces soda, and about 2 ounces simple syrup, to taste.
