A glass of vibrant green liquid filled with ice cubes, topped with a red sugar rim, is placed on a gray tabletop. Another similar glass and a spoon are blurred in the background.

Turn your favorite Christmas movie into a Christmas punch! I love making mocktails and fun drinks for parties and this fun, kid friendly, easy grinch punch recipe is perfect for a Christmas gathering. It’s a fun holiday drink and a non-alcoholic recipe so it’s good for everyone and you can turn the lime and pineapple drink into a punch super easily.

A can of Canada Dry ginger ale, a can of Dole pineapple juice, a bottle of DaVinci Gourmet lime syrup, and a small container of red sugar are arranged on a gray countertop against a white tiled backdrop.

Ingredients Needed

  • Ginger Ale: You could replace this drink with a lemon-lime soda as well.
  • Pineapple Juice: A little bit of pineapple juice adds a freshness to the drink.
  • Lime Syrup: I’m using a lime version of a coffee syrup since it’s non-alcoholic. You can find this on amazon or often at stores like TJMaxx. You can also use lime juice and simple syrup or sweet and sour.
  • Garnish: Red sanding sugar brings out the Grinch!

How to make Grinch Cocktail

  • Dip the rim of a glass in corn syrup and red sugar.
  • Fill glass with ice. Add soda.

Variations

  • Use ginger beer in place of the ginger ale or soda.
  • Add maraschino cherries – the cherry can be like the Grinch “heart”
  • Use lime kool-aid (if you can find it) for the lime flavor.
  • To make a holiday season party punch: mix 32 ounces soda with 1/2 cup lime syrup and 1/4 cup pineapple juice in a large punch bowl. Add cherries to bring in the red color!
  • Be sure to try the Christmas Cookie Drink and the Jack Frost drink too!
Two glasses of green iced drinks with red sugar rims sit on a light surface. A gold spoon and a container of red sugar are in the background.

Expert Tips

  • My lime syrup was the green color that the drink is. If your syrup isn’t, you’ll need to add food coloring if you want it green.
  • Using soda like Sprite is a fine replacement for ginger ale if you already have it on hand.
  • Serve immediately once made; the soda will go flat as it sits.
