How to Make Sausage and Cheese Balls
In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks and once it’s browned, drain off the excess fat from the pan.
Combine the Bisquick and shredded cheese in a large bowl. Mix in the cooked sausage, water, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine.
Form the mixture into 2-inch balls. You can do this with your hands or with a cookie scoop. Place them a few inches apart on a large baking sheet. They will spread a bit when they bake.

Recipe Tips
Sausage: If you like some heat, try using hot Italian sausage instead of mild.
Cheese: Cheddar works great but using other kinds of cheese is an easy way to change the flavor. Try Parmesan, Gruyere, Provolone, or different types of cheddar like sharp or aged white cheddar cheese.
Serving Tip: We love them plain, but you can serve them with a warm marinara sauce for dipping.
Make-Ahead Tip: You can make the balls and keep them on a sheet pan in the refrigerator until you’re ready to bake them. Keep them covered with plastic wrap. You may need to add a few minutes of baking time if they are cold when they go in the oven.
Leftovers: Keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will keep well for a few days. If you have parties coming up, I hope you give this recipe for sausage and cheese balls a try! It’s always a hit when we make it for family and friends. Enjoy!
