  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup applesauce


  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Liberally spray a 9"x5" loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl whisk together flour, spices, salt and baking powder.
  4. In another large bowl cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add in your egg and mix well until blended.
  6. Stir in your applesauce until combined.
  7. Stir in your dry ingredients until just incorporated and then spread into prepared baking pan and bake for about 50-60 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
