Making Peach Raspberry Mojitos are the perfect way to celebrate the end of summer.

Peach season is here and what better way to enjoy them then in a Peach Raspberry Mojito?

There’s no need to slave away in a hot kitchen peeling, measuring, or baking. Using peaches in cocktails, such as this Peach Raspberry mojito, Roasted Peach Old Fashioned, Bellinis, or Peach Sangria, is handedly easier and more relaxing.

What is a Mojito?

Mojitos are a Cuban drink traditionally consisting of rum, sugar, lime, mint, and soda water.

Muddling the mint, fresh lime, and sugar releases and blends the flavors. Top that with ice, rum, and soda water to make a bubbly, slightly sweet, and refreshing drink.

Easy Peach Sangria is a delicious party punch recipe with just 4 ingredients! This is the perfect cocktail recipe for peach season!

PIN IT NOW TO SAVE FOR LATER!

It’s peach season! The end of summer is always the time when peaches abound in the stores. School is on the horizon but we want to eek out a little bit more summer, and that’s where sangria comes in.

Sangria is the perfect party drink: it feeds a crowd and is easy to make with any fruit for any season. Late summer is time for peach sangria!

I may not love eating peaches but I love anything with wine…so this sangria is perfect for me.

What is sangria?

Sangria is a cocktail made with wine and hard liquor and fruit. The three are mixed and sit for a few hours to blend the flavors. That’s another reason it’s the perfect party punch: you can make it ahead of time.

Anytime I have a party, no matter the time of year, I always make sangria. Everyone loves it and it’s easy to make with white or red wine.

Something about summer screams white wine to me. It’s crisp and cool and not as heavy as red, which is perfect for hot summer days. White sangria is my go-to in summer.

Shark Bite Punch

July 17, 2018 by Dorothy Leave a Comment

Shark Week requires SHARK BITE PUNCH! Make this punch for kids or adults with shark ice cubes! This is such a fun way to celebrate shark week.

You can make this with just soda for the kids or (shhh) add some vodka for the adults. This drink is basically a Shirley Temple…with SHARKS!

PIN IT NOW TO SAVE FOR LATER

glass of shark bite punch

Shark week is a TV event that happens every summer – a week full of shows related to all things sharks. I used to think it was a silly thing but then we happened to watch a few episodes one year and I was hooked.

Men and women swimming with sharks, mapping where sharks go and how big they get; it makes you really realize how powerful these animals are. Also, you get to see how adventurous (or stupid?) grown adults are because they’re right there swimming with a shark and they must be nuts.

Shark week is an event that must be prepared for – like any good holiday. How better to prepare for a holiday than with food?

Making Shark Bite Punch is the perfect way to celebrate shark week with a drink (or a cocktail).

Sprite or 7-Up is mixed with cherry ice cubes that are filled with gummy sharks – this “bloody” Shirley Temple is perfect for kids…and for adults when you add vodka.

I’ve always wanted to make a Dirty Shirley Cocktail…and this is it!

shark bite punch in glass

I got so excited when I realized shark week was coming that I ordered a bag of gummy sharks off amazon. You can find these sharks in most candy stores, however, or buy them online.

It’s a breeze to make this shark bite punch – just a few ingredients and your kids will LOVE it.

What is a Shirley Temple?

A Shirley Temple is a favorite drink to kids all over: 7-Up or Sprite with cherry juice and cherries.

Basically, it’s a Shirley Temple without the cherries. I hate maraschino cherry juice because it gets everywhere, so instead I made cherry ice cubes out of Kool-Aid. Add a gummy shark to the ice cubes and freeze.

Once you’re ready to serve, fill a glass with shark bite ice cubes and fill with your choice of soda. Watch the drink become “bloody” as the ice cubes melt.

Boozy Frozen Lemonade (with or without alcohol)

June 20, 2018 by Dorothy 12 Comments

BOOZY Frozen Lemonade is easy to make and is the perfect summer drink. Make this frozen lemonade with vodka and sorbet or make it without alcohol for the kids.

This recipe is like that theme park frozen lemonade but with vodka!

frozen lemonade in glass with straw

Whether you call this frozen lemonade or a lemonade slushy, it’s the perfect summer drink! With or without alcohol it’s refreshing and cold and perfect for those hot days by the pool.

Frozen lemonade is reminiscent of theme parks and carnivals, don’t you think? Whenever I’m at Disneyland or any amusement park, we’re always on the lookout for a frozen lemonade stand.

Supposedly, Chick-fil-A also makes a frozen lemonade people lose their minds over, but this version is easy to make at home. This is the most authentic soft frozen lemonade I’ve ever had that’s not from the store!

How do you make Frozen Lemonade?

It’s so easy, you’ll never wait to buy one again. Here’s what you need:

  • Lemon Sorbet! That’s right, this recipe has no lemonade concentrate. The base of the drink is lemon sorbet!
  • Lemonade (any kind)
  • Vodka, if you want a BOOZY Frozen Lemonade (who doesn’t?)
  • Ice
  • Blender

When I found a lemon sorbet in the back of the freezer, I decided to try making frozen lemonade at home. I didn’t know how it was going to turn out but oh my gosh it was so good.

This is the best frozen lemonade recipe you’ll ever drink, and it’s even better with vodka!

You’re probably most familiar with Minute Maid frozen lemonade and I’m telling you this recipe is better.

Why use lemon sorbet?

Frozen Cocktails worth the brain freeze

June 18, 2018 by Lauri Leave a Comment

It’s summer, it’s hot…it’s time for a frozen cocktail! These easy frozen cocktail recipes are worth the brain freeze; they’re full of different fruit or ice cream flavors and lots of alcohol!

Frozen cocktails are perfect for hot summer days. Forget dessert, have a frozen cocktail instead! Frozen cocktails with vodka abound, but you can also make them with rum or tequila – think margaritas or daiquiris or even frozen mojitos!

PIN IT NOW TO SAVE FOR LATER!

Whether you make a milkshake with booze or a frozen cocktail slush with frozen fruit or ice, these cocktails are sure to keep you cool this summer!

Pick a flavor you love, from watermelon to pineapple to berry or even ice cream and just add booze!

How do you make a frozen cocktail?

Making your favorite cocktail into a frozen blender drink is easy!

  • Choose a cream base or an ice base (don’t mix, milky ice tastes yucky)
  • If you’re going the icy slush route, consider using frozen fruit instead, or sorbet!
  • Make sure you sweeten – think about adding simple syrup instead of sugar. Sugar doesn’t dissolve well in cold!
  • Add the fruit and ice last, then blend.
  • Use chilled glassware to keep your drink frozen!

However you make your frozen cocktail, these recipes are sure to please!

Watermelon Party Punch

June 14, 2018 by Dorothy Leave a Comment

Watermelon Party Punch is a cocktail full of watermelon, vodka, wine, and midori! This drink is so good and an easy great cocktail for a party. (It’s like watermelon sangria only much much better!)

Party punch is my favorite thing to make, especially when it tastes like juice!

PIN IT NOW TO SAVE FOR LATER!

glass of watermelon party punch

One of our favorite summer flavors is watermelon. I look forward to finding them in stores come May; we have one on the counter or slices in the fridge at all time throughout the summer.

Watermelon isn’t just great for eating; it also makes a great drink.  Whether you’re just making watermelon juice to drink or mix with lemonade or soda, watermelon pairs so nicely with vodka, midori, and so many other liqueurs and spirits. Adding watermelon to a summer party punch really makes it feel like summer.

Whenever I think about a summer party, I think about watermelon first for food. Watermelon slices go fast on a potluck table, so why not also make them into a party punch so your guests can eat and drink it?

Occasionally I see watermelon juice for sale in the store, but it’s actually simple to make at home and can be used for so many things. One mini seedless watermelon makes about 4-5 cups of juice which will make this punch and leave you some left over to make lemonade or a mocktail with.

How do you make watermelon juice?

It’s easy, albeit a bit messy your first time. You’ll just need a blender and a fine mesh strainer.

  1. Slice your watermelon and remove the rind. Make sure to buy a seedless watermelon!
  2. Working in batches, place the melon pieces in a blender. Blend until it’s all liquid and no chunks remain.
  3. Pour the watermelon liquid through your strainer into a pitcher. This gets all the pulp out so you have a nice clear watermelon juice. (Leave the pulp in if you’re looking for health benefits.)

overhead shot of watermelon party punch

Once you have your watermelon juice, the sky is the limit on what you can do with it.

What can you do with watermelon juice?

There are so many things you can do with your homemade watermelon juice, and this Watermelon Party Punch is one of them. Besides punch you can:

  • Freeze the juice into cubes. Throw the cubes into smoothies or margaritas, or use the frozen watermelon juice cubes to keep this party punch cold without watering it down.
  • Place leftover juice in a jar or plastic bags and freeze for the next time you’re craving punch.
  • Mix watermelon juice with club soda and/or lemonade for a fun watermelon lemonade or watermelon soda.

My favorite thing to do with watermelon juice is to make watermelon cocktails like this easy party punch recipe!

Midori Sour Punch

June 6, 2018 by Dorothy 1 Comment

Midori Sour Punch is a twist on your favorite Midori Sour cocktail! Using limeade and vodka, this midori recipe is perfect for a summer party!

Just a few simple ingredients make this the perfect party punch recipe!

PIN IT NOW TO SAVE FOR LATER!

midair sour punch in tall glass

Besides Zima and Strawberry Hill wine, a Midori Sour was the first cocktail I really enjoyed. I’m sure millions of women will agree with me; when we turn 21 and could order a drink in a bar, Midori Sour was probably the go-to order.

Without looking, I bet bartenders everywhere can guess the age of someone ordering a midori sour within 3 years. Choose 21-25 and you’re probably on the right track.

For this cocktail, I turned that favorite drink and turned it into a party punch recipe. This makes enough for a crowd! I actually came up with this as a copycat for a drink I had last summer in Seattle. The drink was called a Summer Sipper and had all these same flavors: orange, lime, vodka, melon. It was very tasty – and I drank a few – so I made my own when I got home.

The problem was what to call it. Summer Sipper sounds fun and refreshing but for search purposes…no one is going google that. When I did some research on the ingredients, I realized that Summer Sipper was really close to a Midori Sour, but more watered down. Midori Sour Punch it is, folks!

What is a midori sour?

Delicious, that’s what it is.

A midori sour is a sweet cocktail made with melon liqueur, AKA Midori. Midori is the brand name, melon liqueur is what it is. The cocktail combines the sweet and sour flavors of melon, lime, vodka, and sweet and sour.

The midori gives it the signature green color and unmistakable taste of melon. The drink is sweet and sour and the perfect cocktail.

Summer is all about pool parties and gatherings, so a midori sour pitcher recipe was needed. This recipe couldn’t be easier; all you do is stir all the ingredients in a pitcher and serve over ice.

Watermelon Frosé Recipe

May 30, 2018 by Dorothy 1 Comment

Watermelon Frosé is the perfect frozen cocktail for summer! Frosé is frozen rosé wine that has been mixed with watermelon and vodka. It makes for a refreshing blended cocktail!

The combination of vodka, rosé, and watermelon makes a sweet and tart summer drink perfect for any day of the week.

PIN IT NOW TO SAVE FOR LATER!

watermelon froze in tall glass with mint and straw

Of course, I’ve heard the term frosé before, ever since last summer, when rosé became a household name. I’d never had one – or even wanted to try – until a few weeks ago. I was at a bar for a Kentucky Derby party and they were serving champagne slushies (so good, recipe forthcoming) but the special of the house was Watermelon Frosé. They had it turning in a slushy machine right on the bar.

Of course, it wold have been a disservice NOT to order one, so I took one for the team. It was so delicious! Like a smoothie met a slushy, full of watermelon and rosé flavor. It was perfectly pink and pretty and served with a tiny sprig of bright green mint on top. I knew I was going to recreate it at home the second I had the chance.

What is frosé anyway?

If you’re sitting here wondering what I’m talking about, frosé is frozen rosé wine that’s usually blended with fruit and sometimes sugar and other liquor. In this case, watermelon and vodka. It’s easily become one of the trendiest drinks around.

While the frosé I had at the bar was thick and super sweet, this homemade version is lighter with a bit less sugar. I loved the bar version but I found it almost too sweet and I couldn’t finish the whole thing. This version of frosé is absolutely perfect for party or girls night and will keep you cool all summer long.

Watermelon Frosé is an easy blender frozen rosé recipe made with watermelon and vodka. It’s the perfect summer cocktail!

Most of the time you just see frosé made with strawberries. But now that it’s watermelon season, I wanted to use that instead. We always buy watermelons and never eat them all, so I love making cocktails with it.

Berry Bellinis

May 24, 2018 by Dorothy Leave a Comment

Berry Bellinis combine champagne, vodka, and fresh berries! This easy cocktail recipe is not only festive but delicious. I couldn’t just drink one!

Bellini cocktail recipes are just as good as mimosas, but you get to drink them all day!

Berry bellini in stemless flute

I didn’t have a bellini until I was well into my 20s. I was in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay (there used to be a bar there called the Red Square). It was a vodka bar and they served the best peach bellinis, which I loved even though I don’t like peach.

While mimosas are great, bellinis are even better. I’m not a huge fan of juice, so a bellini is the champagne cocktail for me.

What is the difference between a bellini and a mimosa?

While both are made with champagne or prosecco or some other sparkling wine, mimosas are also made with juice. A bellini is traditionally made without juice, but with peach puree and/or peach schnapps. The term bellini has come to signify more than just a peach champagne cocktail, however. Bellinis can be made with any fruit and any liquor.

How do you make a bellini?

Bellinis are as easy as pouring cocktails. A traditional one will have fruit puree, liquor, and bubbles. This recipe instead uses mashed berries and strawberry vodka, for a fun and festive cocktail that’s not too heavy on the calories or sweetness. A berry bellini can be made with crushed fruit, although you can puree it if you want. I just love the look of the crushed fruit in this cocktail.

Not only is this drink lighter than a traditional bellini, it’s just as tasty and it’s festive for, say, Memorial Day or the 4th of July.

vodka and champagne bottles

With just 3 ingredients, a Berry Bellini will be a hit at your next brunch or party. Strawberry vodka, champagne, and muddled berries combine for a refreshing champagne cocktail!

I love adding vodka to my mimosas and bellinis. For this berry bellini, I added Strawberry Vodka.

You can buy strawberry vodka at the liquor store, but you can also substitute raspberry or any other flavor you want. I know I’ve seen raspberry vodka at regular grocery stores recently. You could even use peach to make this taste even more traditional.

I love using prosecco, because I like it more than champagne, but use your favorite version of sparkling wine. Just make sure it’s chilled!

To start this cocktail, you just add the berries to the vodka and muddle them a little. (Muddling your berries is just a fancy word for crushing them a bit.)

This cocktail tastes like one of those fruit infused waters, but with bubbles!

Tropical Sangria Punch Recipe

May 18, 2018 by Dorothy 3 Comments

This Tropical Sangria Punch Recipe will make you think you’re at the beach! Wine, pineapple juice, rum, and orange make this such a fun summer punch recipe!

You know it’s good when your cocktail tastes like juice, ha!

tropical sangria in glass

It’s almost time for summer cocktails! This summer I plan to sit by the pool with the grill going and a cocktail in my hand multiple times per week.

When I’m looking for the perfect summer punch recipe, I always think about sangria. Wine is my favorite beverage by choice, so sangria just makes it better. To me, a good sangria tastes like juice, which is good and bad, ha!

Sangria combines the flavors of wine and fruit and and is the perfect warm weather beverage for a party. It’s like a party punch by definition, and everyone loves it.

This Tropical Sangria Punch takes a traditional sangria a step further and makes you feel like you’re on the beach in Hawaii. With the flavors of orange, pineapple, and cherry, it’ll make you long for summer days by the water.

One of the things I absolutely love about sangria is how adaptable it is. You can change the flavors of it by simply changing the juice or fruit or liquor you put in it. You can use a sweet wine, like moscato, or use red or white wine, or even sparkling. It’s easy to change up the flavors to make them taste more like a margarita, or more like the tropics, and so many more flavor combinations.
